Silver Lullaby
I was given by grandmother's old koto, which she used to use, to compose my first solo koto piece. I had a wonderful encounter with a koto teacher in Kamakura, and weaved my memories of my grandmother and the life she given me into the sounds. Five days after the completion of this piece, she passed away. It is a special moment for me to be able to listen to this piece here that the score was placed in her coffin. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Sachiko Yoshihara, who performs this piece today.
