KURODA Reison（Shakuhachi）
Japan Curtural Envoy 2019 of the Agency for Cultural Affairs in Japan. Studied under Aoki Reibo (Shakuhachi player nationally designated as a Living National Treasure) and Aoki Shoji in Japan.
Amongst awards he won are there the highest award at the World Shakuhachi Competition in London 2018, the highest award at Tone Hidenori Memorial Competition.
Performed "November Steps" composed by Takemitsu Toru at the international contemporary music festival "ARS MUSICA".
He pursues the infinite possibilities of the shakuhachi now and in the future through annual solo performances around the world, numerous commissioned new works, and collaborations with orchestras. He has provided many sound sources for CDs, TV, Kabuki performances, etc.
