YAMAZAWA Kei(Violoncello)

Born in Dec.1987 in Tokyo, Japanese cellist Kei Yamazawa is one of the most sought-after musicians of his generation.
He studied cello performance at Tokyo University of the Arts under the tutelages of Fumiaki Kono, Nobuko Yamazaki and Hidemi Suzuki. Currently he is the Principal Cellist for The Geidai Philharmonia Orchestra,Tokyo and Chiba Symphony Orchestra.
Yamazawa has garnered major prizes to this date, including: 1st Prize at “Kyogaku XI”, 11th Contemporary Music Performance Competition (2014); The 24th Asahi Contemporary Music Award (2014); the 1st Prize at The Akiyoshidai Music Competition (2013), and; the 3rd Prize at the VIVAHALL Cello Competition (2012).
